Masagoye Christian Congregation Group Kuria Kenya, now know as Tree of Life Fellowship and Orphanage Kenya – are children affected by HIV and AIDS by virtue of, among others, living in a household where one or more people are ill, dying or deceased, or which fosters orphans, and children whose care givers are too ill or old to continue to care for them. They often have more health needs than their peers. This inquiry was carried out to obtain baseline information on the needs of OVC in Kuria West as a basis for provision of relief services.
METHODS: A house to house cross-sectional survey of OVC recruited via a multistage sampling technique was carried out in here in our District and the tool was used to obtain information from the respondents and/or their caregivers. Vulnerability of the children was assessed using a Vulnerability scoring which ranged from 1-181, with 1-9 being vulnerable, 10-13 more vulnerable, and 12-15being most vulnerable.
CONCLUSION: This survey revealed the various needs of OVC. Efforts to care, support and protect vulnerable children should not only focus on their immediate survival needs such as education, shelter and clothing, but also on long-term developmental needs that reduce children’s vulnerability such as life skills, child protection, vocational training, food security and household economic strengthening. Our overall objective in life is to know Jesus Christ and make HIM known, and assist the Vulnerable Ovc to get all their needs made , if I can accept us succeed in this, at the end of the day I will have accomplished the biggest task ever given to mankind to accomplish.
Greetings, to you Pastor Ron and the body of Christ in our mother church there.
As I told you in my first letter that we are Christian ministry commissioned in spreading the love of God and caring for the orphans and the needy children, currently we have many children who are staying with us. Due to the above we are looking for sponsorship program, we are in great need to build the orphanage Home, school, healthy facility and providing the basic needs to the Children i.e. food, clothing etc. We ask you to pray for this that we can get a way to accomplish what the Lord Has placed in our hands and care. In the Bible, God gives many promises to the fatherless and the widow and to see more souls are saved and believe in Jesus Christ.
He promises to…Defend them; Rescue them; Deliver them; Not to leave them; Come to them; Hear them; Lift them up; Be their Father; Make them a home; Lead them out; Not forget them; Extend mercy towards them; Execute true justice for them; Give them food and clothing; Be their helper; Incline His ear to them; God promises to not forget orphans & widows; Maintain their cause, It is obvious how much He loves the fatherless and the widow. God calls on us to be His agents of action in bringing these promises to fruition in the lives of orphans and widows. That is clearly the call of James 1:27 – “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…, to join us in taking action – to give, to go, to pray, to organize mission trips to visit Kenya, to adopt, to take up foster care work, to start orphan care / widow care ministries in your churches, to act on behalf of the orphans and widows in their communities. If you are interested in taking action please friend you most welcomed. Blessings to you as you become His hands and feet in service to orphans and widows. Our vision is to reveal Gods heart to the body of Christ. To see the church taking responsibility for the underprivileged and the marginalized – meeting the needs of the poor at a grass roots level. John 14vs18 says I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you. 1 John 3vs 17 says if anyone has materials possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Matthew 25:40 “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” (NIV) Only in doing this can Christ can be revealed to us – while being Christ-like. All too often we pass Jesus by in our everyday life. My vision is to reveal the Christ in every man, to every man – by living our lives for Jesus, the way he taught. My heart is to see justice performed in the hearts and lives of the marginalized and the poor. Motivated by our faith in Jesus Christ, we can serve alongside the poor and oppressed as a demonstration of God’s unconditional love. Lastly Brethren my overall objective in life is to know Jesus Christ and make HIM known, and assist the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC here in our county.
Brethren my overall objective in life is to know Jesus Christ and make HIM known, if I can succeed in this, at the end of the day I will have accomplished the biggest task ever given to mankind.
A congregation well done by His faithful servants brings GLORY to Christ.
Deeply in His grace,
Bishop Richard O. Makori
